CK-12 Foundation (
www.ck12.org) is a 501(c)3 non-profit based in Palo Alto, CA whose mission is to create an online collaborative environment to produce free and open textbooks that are aligned to curriculum guidelines and can be customized for individualized needs. Textbook Revolution (
www.textbookrevolution.org) is a web site that reviews educational works that are made available on the web at no cost. The reviews are organized according to both copyright license and categories and are largely focused on guiding users to complete, online textbooks. Although the sites focus is primarily college and graduate level texts, but more recently they have been expanding to include works targeted at the K-12 level. This spring they are rolling out a new section of the site that includes reviews of course materials and the ability to create collections of reviews and links to resources on a variety of subjects or topics.
