Angie Little writes: I've spent much of my life migrating around the west coast. Originally from Oregon, I achieved my B.S. in Physics from Seattle Pacific University (in Seattle) and then came to Berkeley to pursue a graduate degree in Physics. While in the physics department, I co-developed an educational program, The Compass Project, to support undergraduate physics majors here and also achieved my Masters. Following my Masters, I spent a year studying cognitive linguistics, metaphor theory, and Spanish while continuing to teach undergraduate physics. It then became rather obvious that I should be in some sort of interdisciplinary program. And so here I am, in my second year as a SESAME graduate student.
About the project
We seek to mobilize digital citizens with tools and concepts for the public interest. Our goal is to tackle the biggest issues the world and our local communities face today. People of all levels of skill and knowledge are invited. Our group exists to give space for the types of discussions that both inform our understandings and vocabularies around digital and network technology, as well as to be creative and do or make things that hold those in power accountable, give voice to those without, improve the lives of others and benefit the public interest.
